Dior: Limited Edition Eye Shadow Palettes 2011

Thought I'll do a short write-up on the really limited edition palettes from Dior.
Why do I say "really limited"? Because they are released in far fewer quantities than the previous years' pieces here, and the X'mas 2010 + Spring 2011 collection, and the latest Blue-Tie collection for Fall 2011.

These are really exquisite pieces and you can see the fusion of the Dior Couture with the Dior Maquillage.
For true-blue Dior collectors, be it of Couture or Maquillage, I believe you would already have grabbed them, because if you haven't, they are probably already sold out!

But fret not if you've missed them... because they are just too pretty to be used... can you imagine "destroying" the beautiful work of art in these palettes by brushing your eyeshadow applicators across?!!?!?!

*GASP*

And I feel that buying makeup which cannot be used is really a waste, not only in practical sense, but also because I believe the artiste(s) who came up with these palettes would have wanted them to be used...

Well, without further ado, here they are:

May 2010: Tailleur Bar Eyeshadow Palette

August 2011: Palette Lady Dior

Coach: Picture Frame Key Ring

Discovered these cutesy picture frames purely by chance when I passed by the Coach boutique.
A plus point is that they come attached with key rings and can also double up as a pretty accessory to your bags as well!

Dior: Cannage Couture Voyage Collection

Been rather disappointed that Dior did not come up with any more outstanding pieces after the whimsical Saddle bag or the classic Lady Dior for their boutique line. Guess it wasn't easy to find someone to take over from John Galliano..

Meanwhile, Dior's cosmetic line seem to be banging on these signature designs for dressing up its maquillage collection, which I must say is a safe bet and a sure-win formula. Just look at the previous beauties that were modelled from the Lady Dior collection alone!

- Miniature Lady Dior bag with charms (Radiant Couture Touch-up for Face, Cheeks & Lips)
- Cannage Eyeshadow palettes with Dior charms (X'mas 2010 red patent & Spring 2011 black lambskin)
- Blue Tie collection (Summer 2011 eyeshadow palette)

Hence, to add-on to these Lady Dior spin-offs, I'd like to share with you 2 more pieces from the Cannage Couture Voyage Collection, which is only available at the airport duty-free shops.

1. All Over Makeup Palette Prêt-à-Porter & Couture Looks

This all rounder palette consists of 6 eyeshadows, 2 lip balm shades, 2 lip stick shades, 1 Diorshow miniature Extase mascara & the Natural Glow Sculpting Powder, all nestled in a zip-around, black patent Cannage design long box-set which can double up as an evening clutch as well. Talk about versatility!

2. Brush Set

Another sweetie to up the glamourous factor! Also in the same black patent Cannage design, this set consists of a brush each for blush, foundation, eyeshadow & lips. A point to note is that this cute pouch comes with a dangling signature "D" logo! Definitely a cute darling to add to your travel must-have items!

Dior: Blue-Tie Collection

For the Summer/Fall 2011 collection, Dior came up with the Blue-Tie collection:
Essentiels Pour Le Soir Regard Smoky & Levres Nude.

There are 2 palettes to choose from for this collection, and each consists of
4 eyeshadows & 1 lip colour.

001. Smoking Blue

002. Smoking White

Comparing the 2 palettes side by side, it doesn't take long to decide which is the must-have palette!
I was quite disappointed that the Smoking White palette consists of 4 whitish shades that are all too similar... In contrast, Smoking Blue is such a gorgeous combination of blue-gray, navy, light navy & shimmery light gray!

This time round, the packaging is a much more simple metalic case, unlike the X'mas 2010 & Spring 2011 collection which pays homage to the Lady Dior bag's signature Cannage design. Nevertheless, it's still a chic palette! Have you gotten yours already?

Chanel: 2.55 Medium Flap & Accessories

One of my dream bags: 2.55 classic Chanel flap bag!
I was a Chanel convert after watching Audrey Tautou starred as Mademoiselle Chanel
in the movie Coco avant Chanel. Audrey Tautou is my favourite French actress and it is really
difficult not to be taken in by the endorsements she did for the Chanel maquillage~

Of course, I was besotted by the versatility of the Chanel designs & how Chanel assentuates the
modern lady in the 21st century while still keeping her feminism with a touch of sophistication
& elegance.

The classic 2.55 bag was first launched in February 1955.
How it has transcended through time!

To quote Mademoiselle Chanel:
"Chanel, c'est d'abord un style.
La mode se démode, le style, jamais"

Ça c'est vrai, je pense.
So, are you charmed by Chanel yet?

Dior: Costume Jewellery

I reckon it's time I cover some of Dior's costume jewellery pieces!
These are collections from the older seasons as unfortunately,
the new Spring/Summer 2011 collection doesn't appeal to me at all..

1. Dior Oblique series

We tend to always clamour for the latest collection, the newest designs & the trendiest colour.
However, more often than not, only some of the designs could withstand the sands of time &
be bestowed the title of "Classic":

                                               Oblique hook earrings
                                               Oblique bracelet
                                               Oblique necklace

2. Dior Purely II series

I never knew Dior has such lovely charms until I saw the Dior Purely II series!
Be it a padlock, a heart, or the Dior logo, each lovely charm is carefully adorned with
Swarovski crystals or Mother-of-pearl to give it a luxurious feel.
A bold statement when pieced together with a bracelet, it definitely brings out
your feminine charms!!!

                                               Purely II bacelet with charms
Purely II necklace with heart pendant

3. Cruise Collection 2010
Though this series belong to the Cruise Collection & not the classic,
I was immediately drawn to it when I spotted the miniature Lady Dior bag!
The long necklace & bracelet include the j'adore parfum minature as well!!
Enough said.

Coach: Card case + Lanyard, Wristlet & Watch

Wow, it has been a long while since my last post!
Procrastination got the better of me... guilty as charged...

Nevertheless, I'm glad I've finally broke out from that and today, I'm going to keep the focus on Coach instead! Previously, I mentioned that I like the Poppy series from Coach because the designs are more colourful & youthful and hence catches my attention more. So, I'm going to introduce a few more items from Coach!

1. Card case + Lanyard
I've been wanting to get this one for the longest time!!! Simply adore how the gold colour compliments the brown prints! The little Coach tag just upped the cute quotient!

2. Poppy Tartan Wristlet (purple)
My favourite series from Poppy so far. Totally in love with the chic tartan design & absoluely smittened by the clever combination of the different shades of purple in the design! An absolute must-have for me when I first saw it!!!

3. Bridgit Inlay Bangle Watch (pink)
My current darling at the moment. I was won over by the "bangle watch" concept. If it had been a mere leather strap, I would not have paid too much attention to it. The "bangle" gives the watch an edge over the other conventional designs and makes it look more sturdy (due to the stainless steel structure beneath the pink leather strap) & versatile. At the same time, it retains the timeless classic look of modernity & simplicity.

I hope to put up the next post soon! (I will try not to succumb to procastination again...)
Till then, I hope to be able to share more pretty things in the next post!
